NEW CMCN COASTAL OFFICER
The WA CMCN is excited to welcome Pierre Bouvais as our new contract Coastal Officer! CMCN has partnered with WALN (Western Australian Landcare Network) to fund this role.

CMCN Coastal Officer
Over the next 18 months Pierre will collaborate with the Core Strategic Group, Reference Group to ensure the network meets members needs. To best contribute in achieving networks outcomes, Pierre is aiming to first identify issues of mutual interest between Working Groups and network members to promote cohesion for coastal and marine conservation, all around WA.
He will soon be engaging with CMCN stakeholders (local state government agencies, community groups and managers) in activities (including workshops, capacity building sessions and forums …) to gather input and support for the co-construction of a strategy for the network.

LATEST UPDATE OF CMCN’s TERM’S OF REFERENCE
The Network continues to grow thanks to the commitment of its volunteer members and support from the West Australian Landcare Network. The Core Strategic Group has worked, in partnership with Working Groups and CMCN members, to finalise the Network’s Terms of Reference (TOR). The TOR is available on the CMCN website, and details goals, principles and operational approach.
The new CMCN website, which was made possible through a partnership between the WA branch of the Australian Coastal Society (ACS) and State Government support for WA Coastal News (through the Coastwest program), provides an online presence for the Network, and will see the Network partner in the ongoing delivery of WA Coastal News. This partnership will see (i) the CMCN webpage host news content; (ii) an expanded readership base; and (iii) the harnessing of collective effort by those working in marine and coastal management in WA.
